The GUHRING 9011830132000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding production and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, this bit features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry that reduces thrust and improves centering without a pilot hole. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. A whistle notch shank provides positive drive retention in standard chucks. The submicron carbide grade substrate delivers consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where high-speed steel tooling falls short.
This drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools in tool rooms, job shops, and production floor environments. The coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it effective in deep-hole operations where heat buildup is a concern. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in medium-depth bores. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians working with tight-tolerance holes will find this bit appropriate for steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537L, suitable for use in standard CNC and manual machine tool spindles accepting a whistle notch shank in the 0.5512-inch shank diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide tooling procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Carbide is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed-rate management, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Verify chuck or collet condition and runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates edge chipping in carbide tooling.
