The GUHRING 9011830120000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and cast iron workpieces. Built to DIN 6537L standards, this 12 mm (0.4724 inch) diameter bit features a 140-degree split point (SU geometry) for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The submicron carbide substrate is finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that improves surface hardness and extends tool life in production environments. With a web-thinned, tapered web design and two spiral flutes, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and consistent hole quality. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deep-hole applications at maximum drilling depths up to 53 mm.
This drill bit is intended for use in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel, corresponding to DIN material groups K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 53 mm (2.087 inches) without step drilling. The whistle notch shank seats securely in compatible toolholders per DIN 6535, and the right-hand spiral flute geometry is compatible with conventional CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools used in metal fabrication, maintenance, and production machining applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for machining setups requiring a DIN 6537L jobber-length solid carbide drill in the 10 mm to 12.5 mm diameter range. Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.4724 inch (whistle notch) shank per DIN 6535.
This tool is installed by machinists or toolroom technicians in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual mills using a DIN 6535-compatible collet or toolholder. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for solid carbide tooling in the target workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not run carbide tooling in interrupted cuts or unstable setups without appropriate rigidity. When enabling coolant-through operation, verify coolant pressure and flow are within machine specifications before starting the cycle.
