The GUHRING 9011830081000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for precise, high-performance drilling in ferrous and cast iron workpieces. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split point geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating extends tool life and improves heat resistance at the cutting edge. At 8.1 mm in diameter with a 103 mm overall length and a 61 mm flute length, this bit is suited for production drilling where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are priorities. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation in deep-hole applications up to a maximum drilling depth of 48.85 mm.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production environments. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron and steel, consistent with DIN material codes K and P. The whistle notch shank with a 10 mm shank diameter seats securely in collet and hydraulic chuck systems. A 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports efficient chip removal in moderate-depth drilling cycles. It is appropriate for job shop and production floor environments where consistent hole tolerances are required.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct application tool conforming to DIN 6537L for use in toolholders accepting a whistle notch shank. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under DIN material codes K (cast iron) and P (steel).
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the whistle notch shank. Confirm coolant-through lines are active before initiating deep-hole cycles to prevent chip packing and premature tool failure. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for carbide tooling in the target workpiece material.
