The GUHRING 9007690055000 is a solid carbide straight-flute die drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from submicron carbide and left uncoated, this bit delivers tight dimensional control with a diameter tolerance of +0.004 to +0.016 mm. The 120-degree point angle and web-thinned geometry reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation in gummy, ductile alloys. Internal coolant-through channels with round coolant holes support high-speed, deep-hole operations without recutting chips. The 5.50 mm (0.2165 inch) cutting diameter and 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio make this a purpose-built tool for die work, fixture drilling, and precision component manufacturing where hole quality and repeatability are critical.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling fixtures in toolroom, die shop, and production environments. Its straight-flute design is suited for drilling aluminum, aluminum alloys, and cast iron where spiral flutes may cause chatter or material pull-up. The right-hand cutting direction and 2-flute configuration provide clean entry and consistent chip flow at recommended spindle speeds. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers and users of this tool. It is manufactured to DIN 6535HA shank standards for reliable retention in standard toolholders.
Designed as a Series 769 straight-flute die drill for use in toolholders conforming to DIN 6535HA shank standards. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and aluminum alloys; secondary compatibility includes cast iron. Suitable for CNC and manual drilling equipment equipped with coolant-through spindle capability.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling and proper speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Secure the shank fully in a DIN 6535HA-compatible toolholder and verify runout before drilling. Enable coolant-through flow before the tool contacts the workpiece to prevent thermal shock to the carbide. Do not use this tool for hand-drilling or in holders that do not provide adequate clamping for the 6.00 mm shank diameter.
