The GUHRING 9007300060400 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this Series 730 bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle, a two-flute regular spiral configuration, and a bright/uncoated finish. The micrograin carbide construction delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed when drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials at high feed rates. Cutting is right-hand direction with a straight-cylindrical shank sized at 6.04 mm for secure chuck engagement. This bit is typically installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working on CNC equipment or drill presses.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose production drilling in light metals, with aluminum listed as the primary workpiece material. The stub-length body limits deflection in short-hole applications, making it a practical choice for screw machine work, CNC drilling cycles, and fixture-plate operations where hole location accuracy matters. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned point reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes up to 0.864 inches deep.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length drill bit per DIN 6539 specification, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6.04 mm shank. Fits applications within the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch drill diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck or collet is properly torqued before beginning a drilling operation. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side-loading or prying with the bit, and do not use this bit as a reamer. Verify the workpiece is securely fixtured to prevent movement during the cut.
