The GUHRING 9007300057900 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit with a 0.228-inch diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle. Built to DIN 6539 standards, it features a micrograin carbide substrate that holds a sharp edge longer than high-speed steel equivalents, making it well suited for production drilling and repetitive-cycle applications. The two-flute spiral design with web thinning reduces thrust force at the cutting edge. The bright/uncoated finish keeps the tool in its as-ground state, which works well in aluminum and other non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a concern. A straight-cylindrical shank at 5.79 mm (approximately 0.228 inches) seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet holders.
This bit is intended for general-purpose drilling in aluminum as the primary workpiece material, though the micrograin solid carbide construction also handles other non-ferrous metals and plastics. The stub-length body limits stick-out and improves rigidity, which is an advantage in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines where shorter cycle times and tighter positional accuracy are required. The maximum drilling depth is 0.761 inches (19.32 mm), consistent with the 3xD flute-by-diameter ratio. It is sold individually.
Designed as a general-purpose stub-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 5.79 mm range. Part of the GUHRING Series 730 line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine at a full stop and all spindle motion confirmed stopped before handling. Seat the shank fully in the chuck or collet and torque the holder to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specification before resuming operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and edge damage can propagate rapidly under cutting load. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply flood or mist coolant externally as required by the workpiece material and feed rate.
