The GUHRING 9007300055600 is a stub-length (screw machine length) twist drill bit engineered for precise, high-performance drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this Series 730 bit delivers consistent dimensional accuracy to an h8 diameter tolerance. The 118-degree faceted point geometry, combined with web thinning, reduces entry thrust and keeps the bit centered on startup. With an overall length of 66 millimeters (approximately 2.60 inches) and a flute length of 28 millimeters (approximately 1.10 inches), the short stub body provides added rigidity ideal for demanding production drilling cycles. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and sheet-metal fabrication shops rely on carbide stub drills like this when throughput and hole quality both matter.
This bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production screw machine setups. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet systems. The 3xD flute-by-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute configuration provide reliable chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 0.774 inches (19.66 millimeters), making it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in thin to medium stock. Designed as a general-purpose stub-length carbide drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 5.56-millimeter (approximately 0.219-inch) straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-and-die professional familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping from lateral loading. Never use carbide drills in a loose or worn chuck. Ensure spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and hole depth before beginning a cut.
