The GUHRING 9007300023800 is a solid carbide screw machine length (stub) drill bit with a 0.0938 inch (3/32 inch) diameter and a 118-degree faceted point angle. Built to DIN 6539 standards using micrograin carbide, this bit delivers consistent performance in short-reach drilling applications where rigidity and precision matter. The bright/uncoated finish suits shops that prefer uncoated tooling for specific materials. With a right-hand spiral flute and web-thinned point, it cuts cleanly and resists walking at entry. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in production or maintenance environments are the primary users of this series.
The 9007300023800 is rated for general purpose drilling with aluminum as the primary workpiece material, though the micrograin carbide construction handles other non-ferrous and soft ferrous materials in appropriate conditions. The stub-length design keeps the bit close to the spindle for maximum rigidity, making it well suited for drill press, CNC machining center, and screw machine operations where chatter and deflection must be minimized. Maximum drilling depth is 0.411 inches (10.43 mm), and the flute-to-diameter ratio is 3xD.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide stub drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 2.38 mm (0.0937 inch) cylindrical shank, conforming to DIN 6539 Series 730 specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Always secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to prevent micro-chipping of the carbide cutting edges. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loads and interrupted cuts unless the setup is rigid. Inspect the cutting edges before each use; discard or regrind if chipping or wear is visible.
