The GUHRING 9007300010000 is a solid carbide stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision small-diameter drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this Series 730 bit features a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inch) diameter, a 118-degree faceted point angle, and a web-thinned tapered web for improved chip evacuation and reduced thrust on entry. The bright/uncoated finish and DK120 carbide grade make it well suited for consistent performance in general-purpose drilling applications. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this format for high-precision, tight-tolerance work where rigidity and cutting accuracy are critical.
This bit is primarily intended for aluminum and other general-purpose workpiece materials. The stub-length body provides maximum rigidity with minimal deflection, making it a preferred choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual operations where hole positional accuracy is essential. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard collet chucks and keyless drill chucks sized for 1.00 mm shank diameters. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a 0.2362 inch maximum drilling depth, it is optimized for shallow, precise holes rather than deep-hole applications.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose stub drill bit per DIN 6539, Series 730, suitable for use in any standard 1.00 mm collet or drill chuck on CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and benchtop drilling equipment.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine fully de-energized and at a complete stop. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a properly sized collet or chuck before tightening to prevent runout. At this diameter, even minor misalignment can result in bit breakage; verify spindle runout with an indicator before drilling production parts. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for micro-diameter tooling.
