The GUHRING 9007300009000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this Series 730 bit measures 0.0354 inches (0.90 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 25.00 mm and a flute length of 5.50 mm. The 118-degree faceted point and two-flute spiral geometry deliver clean entry and efficient chip evacuation. Machined from micrograin solid carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, it is suited for general-purpose drilling where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required.
This bit is intended for use in precision machining environments where small-diameter holes are drilled in aluminum and comparable non-ferrous materials. The stub-length profile provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection at small diameters. It fits applications such as CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations where a straight-cylindrical shank and compact geometry are specified. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 0.163 inches (4.15 mm).
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement stub drill bit compatible with standard straight-cylindrical collets and chucks accepting a 0.90 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; suitable for general-purpose non-ferrous drilling applications per Series 730 specifications.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-and-die professional. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are fully powered down and secured before inserting or removing the bit. Verify collet bore size matches the 0.90 mm shank diameter to prevent runout and premature tool failure. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external cutting fluid as needed per shop practice for the workpiece material.
