The GUHRING 9006600009400 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. Part of the Series 660 line and conforming to DIN 1899, this bit carries a wire gauge size of 63, equivalent to 0.0370 inches in decimal. The 118-degree faceted point geometry is paired with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration to reduce entry force and improve centering. A TiN (titanium nitride) coating extends cutting edge life in abrasive materials. Overall length is 0.984 inches with a 1.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank, making it a fit for precision drilling stations and high-speed spindles used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This bit is rated primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, with secondary suitability for titanium alloys. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 6.00 mm flute length support chip evacuation in short, controlled drilling cycles. Maximum drilling depth reaches 4.59 mm (0.181 inches). The right-hand spiral flute geometry and regular spiral type are suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual high-precision setups where small-diameter hole accuracy is critical. No coolant-through capability is included, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling titanium or other hard alloys.
Designed for use in drilling aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and titanium alloys. Fits standard 1.50 mm shank collets and chucks on CNC machining centers and precision drill presses conforming to DIN 1899 tooling standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and collet are fully de-energized and locked out before changing bits. Secure the 1.50 mm shank in a properly sized, clean collet to prevent runout, which is critical at this diameter. Because this bit has no coolant-through capability, apply external cutting fluid or coolant to the work zone when drilling titanium alloys to prevent premature edge wear.
