The GUHRING 9006600007600 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in small-diameter applications. It measures 0.0299 inches in diameter with an overall length of 0.984 inches and a 118-degree faceted point angle. The bit features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating over a cobalt substrate, improving surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life. A spiral flute geometry with web thinning and a tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1.00 mm in diameter. This tool is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators working in production or job-shop environments.
This micro drill bit is rated for use in aluminum as its primary workpiece material, with titanium alloy listed as a secondary workpiece material. It conforms to DIN 1899 specification and carries a 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio, with a maximum drilling depth of 0.164 inches (4.16 mm). The right-hand cut and regular spiral type make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held spindles operating in typical production drilling setups. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Rated for aluminum (material codes K, M, N, P) as the primary workpiece material and titanium alloy (material code S) as the secondary workpiece material. Conforms to DIN 1899 and belongs to GUHRING Series 660.
Micro drill bits at this diameter require rigid machine setups with minimal runout to prevent breakage. Always verify spindle and collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use. Reduce feed rates and use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant when drilling titanium alloy. Inspect the cutting edge under magnification before each use, as micro-diameter tooling is sensitive to edge chipping that may not be visible to the naked eye.
