The GUHRING 9006600004600 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. Built to DIN 1899 specification, it carries a wire gauge size of 77, corresponding to 0.0181 inches in decimal diameter. The 118-degree faceted point with web thinning allows for accurate entry and reduced thrust force. A TiN coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and reducing friction. At 0.984 inches overall length with a spiral flute configuration, this bit is suited for tight-tolerance work where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required. Licensed HVAC, manufacturing, and metalworking trades rely on this type of tooling for repeatable micro-bore results.
This micro drill bit is intended for use in light-duty precision drilling operations on aluminum and titanium alloys, making it a fit for aerospace, HVAC component fabrication, and general metalworking applications. The straight-cylindrical shank seats reliably in standard collet chucks and drill press spindles. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. Maximum drilling depth is 0.0910 inches (2.31 mm), appropriate for thin-wall and small-component work. This part is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for drilling aluminum (material code K, M, N, P) as the primary workpiece material and titanium alloy (material code S) as the secondary workpiece material. Fits standard straight-bore collet chucks and drill presses accepting a 1.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with precision tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck before operation to prevent runout. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before drilling. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, and replace the bit if dimensional tolerance cannot be maintained.
