The GUHRING 9006600002600 is a micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from cobalt tool steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life in demanding materials. The bit measures 0.0102 inches (wire size 86) in diameter with an overall length of 0.984 inches. The 118-degree faceted point with web thinning and a tapered web configuration improves centering and reduces thrust during entry. A spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in shallow-depth micro drilling operations. Licensed tradespeople and precision machinists specify this bit for close-tolerance work where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short.
This micro drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum, titanium alloys, and other materials corresponding to workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S. It follows DIN 1899 specification, placing it in the short-length micro drill category. Typical applications include precision component manufacturing, instrument assembly, and other operations requiring drill diameters under 0.015 inches. Maximum drilling depth is 0.059 inches, making it appropriate for thin-wall and shallow-hole applications. The right-hand cutting direction and straight-cylindrical shank allow use in standard collet chucks and precision drill presses.
Designed for use in precision collet chucks, micro drill chucks, and drill presses that accept a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes aluminum (code K, N) and titanium alloys (code S), as well as material codes M and P per the manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or precision tooling technicians familiar with micro drill handling. Always secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as micro drill bits are highly sensitive to lateral deflection. Power down and lock out all spindle power before bit changes. Avoid excessive feed pressure — micro drill bits at this diameter are prone to breakage if feed rate exceeds what the material and depth allow.
