The GUHRING 9006590050000 is a cobalt screw machine length (stub) drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1897 standards, this Series 659 bit features a 130-degree split point, a parabolic flute design, and a web-thinned, parallel web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. At 0.1969 inches in diameter with a 2.441-inch overall length and a 1.024-inch flute length, it is sized for precision work in tight setups. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.000 to -0.018 mm, making it suitable for close-tolerance applications. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification. This bit is rated as heavy duty and is primarily intended for titanium alloy workpieces.
This bit is designed for screw machine and stub-length applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities. Its parabolic flute geometry and 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for short-hole drilling in titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials common in aerospace, toolroom, and precision machining environments. The right-hand cut and coated cobalt construction support higher feed rates and extended tool life compared to standard HSS bits. Maximum drilling depth is 0.728 inches (18.50 mm). Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians using a standard drill press, CNC machining center, or screw machine.
Designed as an OEM-style stub drill bit conforming to DIN 1897 for use in standard drill chucks, screw machines, and CNC machining centers accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.1969 inches diameter. Primary workpiece material rating is titanium alloy per supplier specification.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before use and verify runout before drilling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed appropriate to cobalt drill bits in the target workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges and point geometry before each use; do not use a chipped or damaged bit.
