The GUHRING 9006570012500 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in difficult-to-machine materials. Built to DIN 338 standards from M35 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit is designed to handle the heat and abrasion common when drilling titanium alloys and similarly demanding workpiece materials. It measures 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches) in diameter with a 38.00 mm (1.4961 inches) overall length and features a 130-degree split point for accurate centering and reduced walking on entry. The tapered web and web-thinned geometry lower thrust requirements, making it well suited for precision metalworking operations in shop and field environments.
This drill bit is intended for use in applications where standard HSS tooling falls short. The 130-degree split point geometry and TiN finish make it particularly effective for centering operations and drilling into titanium alloys and other hard or work-hardening metals. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 16.00 mm (0.6299 inches) flute length accommodate typical jobber-length drilling depths. The straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools. Series 657 is GUHRING's designation for this DIN 338 cobalt performance line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production drill bit for use in any drill chuck or collet accepting a 1.25 mm straight cylindrical shank, consistent with DIN 338 jobber-length tooling applications.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with rotary cutting tool procedures. Ensure the drill chuck or collet is clean and properly seated before tightening to prevent runout. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate or spindle speed for the workpiece material, as cobalt bits can fracture under excessive side load even though they resist heat better than standard HSS.
