The GUHRING 9006180060000 is a Series 618 extra length cobalt drill bit engineered for deep hole drilling in demanding industrial applications. The bit measures 0.2362 inches in diameter with an 8.071-inch overall length and a 5.512-inch parabolic flute length, delivering a flute-to-diameter ratio of 15xD. The 130-degree point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry thrust and improve chip evacuation. Manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel without a coating, this drill is suited for applications where heat resistance and edge retention are priorities. It is installed by machinists and tooling professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This drill bit is designed for deep hole drilling in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel workpieces. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip removal at extended depths, reducing the risk of chip packing and tool breakage. The straight-cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and collet holders. Typical applications include aerospace component machining, structural part fabrication, and other operations requiring hole depths beyond the reach of standard-length drills. Maximum drilling depth is 5.157 inches (131 mm).
Designed as a DIN 1869 Series 618 extra length drill bit suitable for use in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel workpieces, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with deep hole drilling practices. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the drill. Use appropriate cutting fluids and feeds-and-speeds for the workpiece material to avoid overheating the cutting edge.
