The GUHRING 9006090078000 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding machining applications. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), this bit delivers extended tool life and consistent performance in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. It measures 3.11 inches in overall length with a 7.8 mm (0.3071 inch) diameter and features a 150-degree drill point angle suited for self-centering entry without a pilot hole. The three-flute, regular spiral design improves chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces compared to standard two-flute geometries. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where tight tolerances and clean entry holes are required. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force at the cutting tip, making it well suited for drilling stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, and similar difficult-to-machine materials. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.43 inches (36.30 mm), it handles moderate-depth holes in both production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber-length drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3071-inch shank diameter. Fits within the GUHRING Series 609 tooling family for drill bit sizes in the 7.00 mm to 8.00 mm range.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the chuck or collet and tighten to the tool-holder manufacturer's specified clamping method. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and replace the bit if diameter tolerance or cutting performance is outside acceptable limits for the application.
