The GUHRING 9005520145000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-production metal drilling applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this 14.50 mm (0.5709 inch) diameter bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree cone relief point. The web-thinned tip reduces thrust force at entry, making it well-suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. It carries a straight-cylindrical shank with an h8 diameter tolerance, conforming to DIN 1897 standards. The short overall length of 111.00 mm adds rigidity, reducing deflection in close-tolerance drilling operations. Installation is typically handled by machinists, tool-and-die shops, or maintenance mechanics.
This bit is designed for stub-length drilling in light industrial and production environments where rigidity and chip evacuation are priorities. Primary workpiece material is aluminum, though the heavy-duty grade HSS construction handles other non-ferrous and softer ferrous materials. The 14.50 mm shank seats directly into standard drill chucks, collet holders, and CNC tool holders accepting that shank diameter. Maximum drilling depth is 1.3480 inches (34.25 mm), consistent with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio. It ships individually and is sold in single-unit quantities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production-use stub drill for standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and CNC holders accepting a 14.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 1897 screw machine length specification.
This drill bit is installed by machinists or maintenance mechanics using standard drill press, lathe, or CNC machining center setups. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the chuck or collet to the recommended grip length before tightening. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 1.3480 inches without retracting to clear chips, particularly when drilling aluminum.
