The GUHRING 9005520042000 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-throughput drilling in production and machining environments. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry and web-thinned point that work together to reduce cutting force and improve chip evacuation. The 130-degree split point starts on contact without a center punch, making it well suited for aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. Overall length is 2.1654 inches with a 0.8660-inch flute length, and maximum drilling depth is 0.6180 inches. Meets DIN 1897 specification.
This drill bit is rated for aluminum as the primary workpiece material and is built to the DIN 1897 stub-length standard, which makes it a fit for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where a short, rigid bit reduces deflection. The stub-length format is common in screw machine operations and production drilling where hole depth is limited and rigidity matters more than reach. It is sold individually and is appropriate for tool cribs, machine shops, and maintenance departments that require a reliable, general-purpose stub drill in the 4.20 mm (0.1654 inch) diameter range.
Designed as a DIN 1897 stub-length replacement or production drill for applications requiring a 4.20 mm (0.1654 inch) diameter straight-shank drill bit; fits standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in this diameter range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by machinists or qualified trade personnel familiar with machine tool operation and cutting tool safety. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the drill chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Always power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable workplace safety guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
