The GUHRING 9005020043700 is a high-speed steel extra length drill bit designed for deep hole drilling applications in metal and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.1719 inch diameter, a 4.921 inch flute length, and a 7.283 inch overall length, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and the need for frequent pecking cycles. The web-thinned, tapered web reduces entry resistance and improves point stability. Manufactured to DIN 1869 standards, this bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators who require consistent performance in deep-hole operations.
This drill bit is intended for deep hole drilling in aluminum and other non-ferrous and ferrous workpiece materials where standard-length bits fall short. The 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for production environments and job shops drilling elongated through-holes or blind holes in fixtures, manifolds, and structural components. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct chuck mounting in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines. The uncoated HSS construction is compatible with standard cutting fluids and lubricants used in aluminum and mild steel machining.
Designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and milling machines equipped with standard chucks or collets accepting an 11/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary suitability for ferrous materials as indicated by material codes K, N, and P per DIN classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended grip depth before beginning any operation. Ensure the spindle is at a full stop before inserting or removing the bit. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole tolerance.
