The GUHRING 9003050005100 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 76, with a decimal diameter of 0.0201 inches. It features a 118-degree cone relief point and a web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering on hard materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.51 mm in diameter and seats directly in standard drill chucks. At 22.00 mm overall length with a 6.00 mm flute length, this is a short, stiff drill intended for precision small-hole work. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards in Series 305, it suits production drilling and toolroom applications where dimensional tolerance and tool life on ferrous materials matter.
This drill is designed for right-hand cutting in general-purpose drilling applications on cast iron and steel. The regular spiral flute and 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it appropriate for through-hole and shallow blind-hole work in both manual and CNC setups. The bright uncoated finish is standard for cobalt-grade tools used in applications where coolant compatibility or post-treatment regrinding is a consideration. Licensed tradespeople and tool-crib machinists working on close-tolerance ferrous assemblies are the primary installers and users of this drill.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use drill for general-purpose ferrous drilling applications; primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel per Series 305 DIN 338 tooling standards.
Secure the shank fully in a drill chuck or collet rated for the shank diameter before use. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steel to manage heat buildup, even though this drill does not support coolant-through delivery. Ensure spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and hole depth before beginning the cut. Inspect the cutting edges before each use; cobalt drills at this diameter are brittle and can fracture if run at incorrect feeds or if the workpiece is not adequately supported.
