Product Description

The GUHRING 9003010010900 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this Series 301 bit carries a wire gauge size of 57, equal to 1.09 mm (0.0429 inches) in diameter, with a 118-degree faceted point angle for clean entry and accurate starts. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1.50 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard collet chucks. The bright, uncoated finish makes wear easy to monitor. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust load at entry. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or prototype environments are the primary users.

This micro drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum, titanium alloy, and similar non-ferrous and light alloy workpiece materials in both production machining and precision fabrication settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 7.60 mm flute length accommodate a maximum drilling depth of 5.97 mm (0.2350 inches), making it appropriate for shallow, close-tolerance hole applications. The regular spiral flute type promotes consistent chip flow in both CNC machining centers and manual drill press setups. Each bit ships individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Key Features

  • Wire size 57 (1.09 mm / 0.0429 inches diameter) for micro-precision hole applications
  • Cobalt tool material provides heat resistance in harder and abrasive workpiece materials
  • 118-degree faceted point angle for accurate self-starting and clean entry
  • Web-thinned, tapered web reduces axial thrust and lowers the risk of bit walking
  • Bright, uncoated finish compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids and lubricants
  • Diameter tolerance held to +0.000 to -0.004 mm for close-tolerance applications

Compatibility

Rated for primary use in aluminum (material code K, M, N, P) and secondary use in titanium alloy (material code S). Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit micro drill for applications requiring DIN 1899 Series 301 tooling with a straight-cylindrical shank.

Installation Notes

Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before drilling, as excessive runout accelerates wear and increases breakage risk on micro-diameter bits. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 5.97 mm without retracting to clear chips.
