The GUHRING 9003010007200 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding materials at very small diameters. The bit measures 0.0283 inches in diameter with an overall length of 0.984 inches and a 118-degree faceted point angle. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust force at entry, which is critical at this scale. A spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in shallow holes. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard collet or drill chuck systems. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.000 to -0.004 mm, ensuring consistent hole sizing in tight-tolerance applications. This bit is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators working with micro-hole requirements.
This micro drill bit is rated for primary use in aluminum and non-ferrous materials (material code K, M, N, P) and is also suited for titanium alloy and other difficult-to-machine materials (material code S). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 0.146 inches make it appropriate for shallow, precision micro-holes in production and toolroom environments. Designed as an OEM-style micro drill bit for use in standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks capable of accepting a 1.00 mm shank diameter. Suited for machining aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and titanium alloy workpieces where micro-hole drilling is required.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. At this diameter, excessive feed rate or runout will cause breakage — verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before use. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external mist or flood coolant where the workpiece material requires it.
