The GUHRING 9003010007100 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this Series 301 bit measures 0.0280 inches (Wire Size 70) in diameter with a 0.984-inch overall length. The 118-degree faceted point with web thinning and a tapered web configuration allows clean entry into tight-tolerance holes. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation, while the bright uncoated cobalt construction handles elevated heat without degrading edge integrity. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fabricators as well as precision machine shops rely on this type of tooling for small-diameter through-hole work.
This micro drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum as its primary workpiece material and titanium alloy as a secondary application, consistent with material codes K, M, N, P, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard chucks and collets found on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools. A maximum drilling depth of 0.147 inches (3.74 mm) makes it appropriate for thin-stock applications, circuit board fabrication support work, and small component drilling tasks common in light manufacturing and field fabrication shops.
Designed as a DIN 1899 Series 301 micro drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank chucks and collets; optimized for aluminum (material codes K, M, N, P) and titanium alloy (material code S) workpieces.
Micro drill bits of this diameter require secure chuck engagement and minimal runout to prevent breakage — verify collet or chuck condition before use. Reduce feed rate and spindle speed relative to larger-diameter bits when drilling cobalt-sensitive alloys. Always power down and secure the machine spindle before installing or removing the bit. Handle micro drill bits with care as the small diameter makes them susceptible to bending and tip damage during storage and handling.
