The GUHRING 9003010005000 is a cobalt micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. Built to DIN 1899 specification, this bit measures 0.0197 inches in diameter with an overall length of 0.984 inches and a 118-degree faceted point angle. The cobalt construction delivers the hardness and heat resistance required when drilling into aluminum, titanium alloy, and other demanding workpiece materials. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force at entry, which is critical when working at this diameter. A bright, uncoated finish maintains tight dimensional tolerances. This bit is handled by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators working in high-accuracy production environments.
Designed for micro-drilling applications, this bit is suited to light-duty machining operations on aluminum, titanium alloy, and similar materials where small-diameter hole accuracy is required. The spiral flute geometry and straight-cylindrical shank allow use in standard collet chucks and precision drill presses. With a maximum drilling depth of 0.104 inches and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD, it is well matched to shallow, tight-tolerance holes in thin workpieces or precision components. The Series 301 designation places it within a defined product family for easy cross-referencing in production environments.
Rated for primary use in aluminum (material codes K, M, N, P) and secondary use in titanium alloy (material code S). Designed as an OEM-specification micro drill bit per DIN 1899 for use in standard precision collet chucks and drill presses accepting a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with micro-drilling operations. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. At this diameter, runout control is critical — use only chucks and spindles with minimal TIR to avoid bit deflection or breakage. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate against the workpiece material specifications before drilling.
