The GUHRING 9002050010800 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit ground to DIN 338 standards. It carries a 1.08 mm diameter (0.0425 inches) with a standard 118-degree point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design produces clean chip evacuation during general-purpose drilling operations. Overall length is 36.00 mm, with a 14.00 mm flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank diameter matching the drill diameter at 1.08 mm. Material grade is M2 high speed steel, a well-established choice for consistent performance across a range of ferrous workpiece materials. This bit is suited to production environments where small-diameter precision drilling is required in metal fabrication, maintenance, or light machine-shop work.
This drill bit is intended for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering primary material codes K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web with web thinning make it appropriate for through-hole drilling in sheet stock, structural steel, and cast components. Maximum drilling depth is 12.38 mm (0.487 inches). It fits standard drill chucks, CNC machining centers, and benchtop drill presses capable of holding a 1.08 mm straight shank. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood coolant or cutting oil applied externally is the typical approach for extended run applications.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill conforming to DIN 338, compatible with any standard drill chuck or collet system capable of holding a 1.08 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard Jacobs-style chuck or precision collet rated for the shank diameter. Ensure the drill press or machining center spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the shank to full chuck jaw engagement to prevent runout at this small diameter. Apply cutting oil or external flood coolant when drilling steel to manage heat and extend tool life; dry drilling into hardened or thick steel sections is not recommended.
