The GRIER ABRASIVES B121-J3-19799 is a mounted rubberized abrasive point with a ball (B121) shape profile, designed for precision grinding, deburring, and surface finishing in confined or contoured areas. Built from aluminum oxide abrasive in a fine grade (120 grit) with a hard hardness rating, this point delivers controlled material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, castings, and tooling surfaces. The 0.125-inch diameter shank mounts directly into a standard die grinder or rotary tool, and the point is rated to a maximum of 45,370 RPM for high-speed operation without degradation.
This mounted point is well suited for tool-and-die work, weld blending, mold finishing, and detail grinding in fabrication and maintenance environments. The ball shape allows access to concave surfaces, radii, and recessed features where flat or tapered profiles cannot reach. It is commonly used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople working with die grinders, flexible shaft tools, or bench-mounted rotary units. The fine 120 grit finish makes it appropriate for finish passes and light stock removal rather than aggressive rough grinding.
Designed for use with die grinders, flexible shaft machines, and rotary tools accepting a 0.125-inch shank. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 45,370 RPM rating of this point before use.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard die grinder or rotary tool with a matching collet size. Power down and disconnect the tool from its air or electrical supply before inserting or removing the shank. Secure the shank fully in the collet and confirm the chuck is tightened before operating. Always verify the tool RPM rating does not exceed the maximum RPM marked on or associated with the abrasive point, in accordance with ANSI B7 safety standards for mounted points.
