The GEORGE RISK INDUSTRIES INC. 195-12-W is a 3/4-inch recessed dual reed magnetic contact designed for use in door and window security and alarm circuits. This contact mounts flush within a bored hole in a door or window frame, keeping the sensor hidden from view while maintaining a reliable normally-open or normally-closed circuit state depending on magnet proximity. The white finish blends with painted wood and vinyl frame surfaces common in residential and light commercial construction. Security and low-voltage alarm technicians are the primary installers of this type of device.
The 195-12-W is suited for residential and light commercial intrusion detection systems where a concealed contact is required on in-swinging or out-swinging doors and casement or double-hung windows. The recessed form factor is preferred in applications where surface-mount contacts are not acceptable for aesthetic or tamper-resistance reasons. It is sold individually and is commonly used in new construction wiring as well as retrofit alarm installations.
Designed as an OEM-style recessed dual reed contact for standard 3/4-inch bored recessed contact installations in residential and light commercial door and window alarm applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed low-voltage alarm or security technicians in accordance with local alarm and electrical codes. Power down the alarm control panel loop before wiring the contact leads to avoid false triggers or panel faults. Bore the mounting hole to the correct diameter to ensure a snug friction fit and confirm magnet-to-contact alignment before final trim and closure.
