The GOODMAN gpch34231 is a horizontal ducted packaged air conditioner rated at 39,000 BTU/h (3.5 tons) with a 13.4 SEER2 efficiency rating. It uses R-32 refrigerant and a single-stage scroll compressor, making it a self-contained cooling solution for applications where a horizontal rooftop or crawl-space configuration is required. Powered by 208/230 volts, single phase, 60 Hz, the unit draws a minimum circuit ampacity of 24.8 amps and requires a maximum overcurrent protection of 35 amps. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation, startup, and refrigerant handling for this class of equipment.
The gpch34231 is designed for ducted residential and light commercial installations where a horizontal configuration is the required or preferred orientation, such as rooftop curb mounts or under-floor installations with horizontal duct connections. The unit delivers up to 1,300 cubic feet per minute of airflow on high speed and operates with an EER2 of 10.6. The multi-speed indoor blower motor with five speeds allows the system to be matched to a range of static pressure and airflow requirements within its rated 0.8 inches of external static pressure. Gas line connection is 1/2 inch and liquid line connection is 3/8 inch.
Designed as an OEM horizontal packaged air conditioner within the Goodman GPCH3 series. Referenced component and accessory part numbers from the manufacturer include: 0259G00213, DDNECNJPCHHA, DHZECNJPGCHM, DPHFRA, GPHMD101-103, INFKPKG01, IRKT-01, OT18-60A, PCCP101-103, PCEF101-103, PCMD101-103, PCMDM101-103, PCP101-103, PCP101-103R8, SQRPC102-103, and SQRPCH102-103.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician with EPA Section 608 certification for R-32 refrigerant handling. Disconnect and lock out all power at the service panel before making electrical connections, and verify supply voltage is within the rated range of 187 to 253 volts before energizing. Follow local mechanical and electrical codes, including applicable sections of the International Mechanical Code and NEC, for duct connections, electrical wiring, and equipment support. Do not operate the unit without verifying correct refrigerant charge, proper airflow, and that all access panels are secured.
