The Goodman dhp153j50ba is a Distinctions-series R-32 refrigerant packaged terminal air conditioner and heat pump designed for through-wall installation in commercial and lodging applications. It delivers 14,500 BTU/h of cooling capacity and 13,200 BTU/h of reverse-cycle heat pump heating at a coefficient of performance of 3.2. A 4.8 kW electric resistance heater provides a supplemental heating output of 12,200 BTU/h. The unit operates on 208 volts at 30 amps and achieves an energy efficiency ratio of 10.6 EER. A NEMA 6-30 LCDI power cord is included. Licensed HVAC technicians or facilities maintenance professionals typically handle installation and commissioning.
This PTAC unit is suited for single-room heating and cooling in hotels, motels, assisted living facilities, dormitories, and similar commercial or multi-unit residential applications. The R-32 refrigerant offers a lower global warming potential compared to R-410A, which is relevant in markets with refrigerant reporting requirements. The reverse-cycle heat pump mode provides efficient heating across a range of outdoor conditions, with the electric resistance heater available for supplemental or emergency heat when ambient temperatures drop below efficient heat pump operation range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation PTAC unit for standard through-wall sleeve applications compatible with the Distinctions series chassis and sleeve dimensions.
Installation must be performed by a qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the National Electrical Code. Power down and lock out the circuit before any wiring connections. The LCDI cord must be plugged into a dedicated NEMA 6-30 receptacle rated for 208 volts and 30 amps. Verify the wall sleeve is properly sealed and supported before inserting the chassis to prevent water infiltration and ensure adequate structural support.
