The Goodman 6023718 is a high pressure sensor designed to monitor refrigerant-side pressure in split-system and packaged HVAC equipment. It signals the control board when system pressure exceeds safe operating limits, triggering a protective shutdown to prevent compressor and system damage. This sensor is a direct OEM replacement component installed by licensed HVAC technicians during preventive maintenance, diagnostic service, or system repair. Its role in system protection makes accurate pressure sensing critical to reliable equipment operation.
This sensor is used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems where refrigerant high-side pressure monitoring is required. It is typically located on the high-pressure side of the refrigerant circuit, near the compressor discharge line or liquid line service port. HVAC technicians replace this component when pressure faults are present, when the sensor fails to close or open at the correct threshold, or when diagnostic codes point to a faulty high-pressure switch or sensor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement high pressure sensor for Goodman residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Installation should be performed by a certified HVAC technician holding an EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification. Before servicing, recover refrigerant from the system in accordance with EPA regulations and power down all electrical supply to the unit. Use appropriate manifold gauge sets and thread sealant compatible with the refrigerant type in use. Verify sensor operation and check for leaks at the connection point before returning the system to service.
