The GLENTRONICS BWSP is a battery-operated backup sump pump system engineered to protect below-grade spaces from flooding when the primary AC sump pump fails. Delivering up to 2500 GPH at 0 feet of head and 1730 GPH at 10 feet of head, it activates automatically whenever the main pump fails, loses power, or cannot keep pace with incoming water. A dual-float switch assembly adds a critical redundancy layer: if one float fails to trigger the pump, the second float engages automatically. The controller sounds an audible alarm, illuminates a warning light, and provides plain-language maintenance guidance. Battery is sold separately.
This system is designed for residential sump pit installations where uninterrupted flood protection is required during power outages, primary pump failures, or primary float switch failures. A weekly self-test cycle runs automatically to confirm the pump is operational. The BWSP supports maintenance-free AGM batteries and includes an improved charging and monitoring system. A remote terminal on the controller allows connection to a security system, auto dialer, or similar notification device, making it practical for unoccupied or seasonal properties where remote alerts matter.
Designed as a battery-backup companion to standard residential AC primary sump pumps. Compatible with maintenance-free AGM batteries. Battery is sold separately.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or experienced tradesperson working in accordance with local plumbing codes. Before servicing or installing any sump pump system, disconnect the primary pump from AC power and confirm the battery backup is not charged or is disconnected. Position the backup pump in the sump pit per manufacturer depth guidelines and route discharge piping to tie into or parallel the primary discharge line using a check valve on each line to prevent backflow. Follow all local codes regarding discharge location and pit sizing.
