The GLASFLOSS ZLP12242 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter designed for residential and commercial HVAC systems requiring efficient particulate removal and reliable airflow management. Sized at 12 inches x 24 inches x 2 inches, this filter features 100% synthetic fiber extended-surface media arranged in a tapered radial pleat configuration at 10 pleats per lineal foot, delivering 5.77 square feet of effective media area. Initial resistance is 0.3 inches WC with a final resistance of 1 inch WC at a rated face velocity of 500 FPM. A galvanized expanded metal backing is laminated to the air-exit side of the media using a thermosetting adhesive to maintain pleat integrity. Licensed HVAC technicians and air quality professionals are the primary installers.
The ZLP12242 is suited for a wide range of HVAC applications including geothermal units, forced-air systems, and commercial air handling equipment where MERV 10 filtration is specified. The filter is rated for continuous operation up to 180 degrees F, making it appropriate for higher-temperature air streams. Its moisture-resistant frame construction supports installations in humid or variable-climate environments. Energy Star rated and manufactured in the USA, this filter meets applicable standards including UL 900, ANSI/ASHRAE 52.2, USGBC LEED, HARDI, and NAFA requirements.
Designed as a standard MERV 10 pleated filter replacement for forced-air HVAC systems, geothermal units, and commercial air handlers accepting a 12 inches x 24 inches x 2 inches filter cartridge.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer's service instructions. Always shut down the air handling unit and set the thermostat to off before replacing filters. Confirm airflow direction marked on the filter frame matches the system's supply airflow path before seating the cartridge. Inspect the filter housing for frame seal integrity to prevent air bypass around the filter media.
