The GIBRALTAR SWN10-6S-G is a stubby threaded spring plunger designed for positioning, locating, and indexing applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The steel body provides structural durability while the Delrin nose reduces friction and minimizes surface marring on contact. With a 3/8-16 thread size and a thread length of 0.625 inches, this plunger installs directly into threaded bores without the need for additional hardware. Initial end force is 4.5 pounds and final end force is 18.5 pounds, making it suitable for moderate-duty retention and detent functions. Installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and assembly professionals.
This spring plunger is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and machine assemblies where repeatable positioning or light-duty locking is required. The stubby plunger length keeps the overall installed profile compact, making it practical in tight clearance applications. It is a single-unit component typically used in production tooling, fixture design, and general industrial equipment maintenance.
Designed as a standard threaded spring plunger for installation in any 3/8-16 tapped bore requiring a stubby-projection, steel-body plunger with Delrin nose tip.
Installation requires a properly tapped 3/8-16 threaded hole. A hex key or spanner wrench appropriate to the plunger head style should be used to thread the plunger in to the desired engagement depth. Ensure the bore is clean and free of debris before installation. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the internal spring or thread engagement.
