The GIBRALTAR SWN10-1XFSP-G is a short-body threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty locking applications in mechanical assemblies. The plunger threads into a tapped hole using a 6-32 thread with a 3/8-inch thread length. The steel body houses a spring-loaded nose with a maximum plunger diameter of 0.046 inches and a projection of 1/16 inch. Initial end force is 0.5 pounds and final end force is 3.5 pounds, providing repeatable tactile resistance. The Delrin nose material reduces friction and wear against mating surfaces. A locking element is included to secure the plunger in position once installed.
This spring plunger is suited for use in jigs, fixtures, machine tools, and precision mechanical assemblies where controlled detent or positioning force is required. The 6-32 thread size makes it compatible with standard tapped holes found in light industrial and instrument-grade components. It is typically installed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, or maintenance technicians working on assembly fixtures or equipment panels. Its compact, short-plunger profile suits space-constrained mounting locations.
Designed as a standard threaded spring plunger for use in any assembly or fixture requiring a 6-32 tapped hole. Verify thread engagement depth against your application before installation.
Installation requires a properly tapped 6-32 hole with sufficient depth to accommodate the 3/8-inch thread length. Use an appropriate driver or hex tool to thread the plunger into the mating hole without cross-threading. Engage the locking element after the plunger is set to the desired depth to prevent backing out under vibration. De-energize or secure any moving machinery before servicing assemblies that contain spring plungers.
