The GIBRALTAR SWN10-1AFS-G is a short threaded spring plunger designed to provide controlled, spring-loaded contact or indexing force in mechanical assemblies. The body is machined from steel with a Delrin nose, offering a combination of structural rigidity and low-friction tip contact. Thread size is 6-32 with a thread length of 3/8 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.046 inches. Initial end force is 0.5 pounds and final end force is 1.5 pounds, making this plunger suited for light-duty positioning and detent applications. Installation is straightforward for machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with precision hardware.
This spring plunger is intended for use in light mechanical assemblies where repeatable positioning, detent action, or component retention is required. The short plunger length type and compact 1/16 inch projection make it appropriate for space-constrained installations in fixtures, jigs, tooling, and equipment panels. The Delrin nose reduces wear on mating surfaces and is suitable for applications where a non-marring contact point is needed. This part is sold individually and is appropriate for both original equipment assembly and field maintenance replacement.
Designed as a standard 6-32 threaded spring plunger for use in any mechanical assembly, fixture, or equipment panel with a compatible 6-32 tapped hole requiring light-duty spring-loaded detent or positioning function.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a pre-tapped 6-32 hole using an appropriate driver or wrench on the hex body. Ensure the mating assembly is de-energized or locked out before servicing any equipment in which this plunger is being installed or replaced. Do not overtighten, as the steel body can strip threads in softer parent materials. Plunger projection depth can be adjusted by threading the body in or out as needed to achieve the desired detent force and engagement.
