The GIBRALTAR SW10-6AFS-G is a short-pattern threaded spring plunger designed to provide controlled, repeatable positioning force in mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 thread size with an 11/16 inch thread length and a 3/16 inch projection. The steel body and steel nose deliver durability in industrial and light manufacturing applications. With an initial end force of 1.5 pounds and a final end force of 7.5 pounds, this plunger suits indexing, locating, and detent functions where consistent spring resistance is required. No locking element is included, making installation and removal straightforward.
This spring plunger is used in fixtures, jigs, machine tools, and mechanical assemblies that require a threaded, spring-loaded positioning element. The short plunger length type makes it well suited for installations with limited clearance or shallow boss depths. It is typically installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, maintenance mechanics, and mechanical assemblers working in production or MRO environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install threaded spring plunger for mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and jigs requiring a 3/8-16 threaded short-pattern plunger with a steel body and no locking element.
Installation requires a tapped 3/8-16 threaded bore of sufficient depth to accept the 11/16 inch thread length. Use a standard hex key or spanner wrench appropriate for the plunger head style; de-energize or lock out any powered equipment before servicing assemblies that contain spring plungers. Do not exceed the rated final end force by forcing the plunger beyond its designed projection travel, as this can damage the internal spring.
