The GIBRALTAR SSWN10-6S-PT-G is a stubby threaded spring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and light-duty locking applications in mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 thread with a body length of 0.625 inches and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.186 inches. The plunger projection is 0.11 inches, with an initial end force of 4.5 pounds and a final end force of 18.5 pounds. The stainless steel body resists corrosion in demanding environments, and the integrated locking element prevents the plunger from backing out once installed. The nylon nose reduces surface marring on mating components.
This spring plunger is suited for use in production fixtures, jigs, tooling plates, machine guards, and similar mechanical assemblies where repeatable positioning or detent action is required. The stubby body length makes it a practical choice in applications where thread depth or clearance is limited. It installs directly into a tapped hole and requires no additional hardware. Machinists, tool and die makers, and mechanical assembly technicians are the typical installers of this component.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded spring plunger for standard 3/8-16 tapped holes in mechanical fixtures, jigs, tooling plates, and general industrial assemblies.
Install into a properly tapped 3/8-16 through or blind hole using a hex key or spanner wrench appropriate for the plunger body. Ensure the mating hole is clean and free of chips or debris before threading in the plunger. The locking element engages the thread flanks to resist back-out, so do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking feature or distort the body. No power isolation is required, but follow applicable facility lockout procedures when installing in powered equipment.
