The GIBRALTAR SPR50-G is a stainless steel pull ring plunger designed for indexing, positioning, and retention applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 1/2-13 thread size with a thread length of 0.41 inches and a non-locking design, allowing the plunger to be manually retracted via the pull ring without tools. The plunger diameter measures 0.31 inches with a projection of 0.38 inches, and end force ranges from 1 pound initial to 4 pounds final, providing reliable spring-loaded engagement. Machined from stainless steel, this plunger is suited for corrosion-resistant applications in wet, food-processing, or outdoor environments. Mechanical assemblers and maintenance technicians commonly install this type of hardware in fixtures, panels, and equipment enclosures.
The SPR50-G is used in light-duty to medium-duty mechanical assemblies where a spring-loaded detent or stop point is required. Typical installations include jig and fixture work, machine tool panels, enclosure latching, and equipment positioning systems. The pull ring allows manual retraction without a separate tool, making it well suited for applications requiring frequent adjustment or repeated cycling. It fits standard threaded holes or can be installed into a tapped bore with appropriate clearance for the body and head.
Designed as a standard-thread pull ring plunger for use in any mechanical assembly or fixture accepting a 1/2-13 threaded plunger body.
Installation requires a tapped hole sized for 1/2-13 threads. Use a wrench on the 0.5-inch hex head to torque the plunger into the threaded bore; do not over-tighten, as this can compress the spring or damage the stainless body. Ensure adequate clearance around the ring diameter of 1 inch before final assembly. Depressurize or de-energize any equipment before servicing plunger hardware in live machinery.
