The GIBRALTAR MSW10-6FS-PT-G is a threaded spring plunger with an M10 x 1.5 thread size and a 17.5 mm (0.689 inches) thread length. The steel body and steel nose provide durability in industrial and mechanical positioning applications. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in the threaded bore to prevent backing out under vibration or repeated loading. The short plunger configuration features a maximum plunger diameter of 4.72 mm (0.186 inches) and a projection of 5.5 mm (0.217 inches). Initial end force is 0.46 kg (1.01 pounds-force) and final end force is 5.44 kg (11.99 pounds-force), making it suitable for light-to-moderate indexing and detent applications.
This spring plunger is used in machine tools, fixtures, jigs, and automation equipment where a repeatable, spring-loaded detent or positioning point is required. The M10 x 1.5 external thread installs directly into a tapped hole in metal or plastic housings. The locking element eliminates the need for thread-locking compound in most standard installations. Typical end users include maintenance technicians, machine builders, and precision fixture fabricators working in industrial manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation spring plunger for any application requiring an M10 x 1.5 threaded bore with a short-projection steel plunger and locking element.
Installation is performed by machining or locating an M10 x 1.5 tapped hole to the required depth and threading the plunger in with an appropriate hex key or spanner. Ensure the bore is clean and free of chips before installation. The locking element engages the thread on final tightening — do not overtighten, as this can damage the locking element or distort the bore. No special trade license is required, but follow applicable machine safety and lockout-tagout procedures when installing in live equipment.
