The GIBRALTAR mqr-1002 is a ball lock hitch pin made from zinc plated steel, designed for secure, tool-free fastening in mechanical assemblies, equipment linkages, and structural connections. The pin measures 3/16 inches in diameter with an 11/16 inch overall length and a 1/2 inch usable length. A hardness rating of Rockwell C 25-34 provides reliable resistance to shear and wear under typical service loads. The zinc plated finish offers corrosion resistance in light-duty indoor and outdoor environments. This pin is installed and serviced by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and general tradespeople working on equipment that requires quick-release pinned connections.
Ball lock hitch pins are commonly used in light industrial equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling systems, and general mechanical fabrication where a fast-connect, fast-release pin connection is needed. The small diameter makes this pin suited for compact linkages and clevis connections in tight spaces. Its single-piece construction with an integrated ball detent eliminates the need for a separate cotter pin or clip in most applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock ball lock hitch pin for equipment and assemblies requiring a 3/16 inch diameter quick-release pin connection.
Installation requires no special tools. Align the pin through mating holes and press until the ball detent seats. Before servicing any equipment, de-energize or lock out the system per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify that pin diameter and usable length are compatible with the receiving hardware before installation to ensure proper retention.
