The GIBRALTAR MKNL-0-G is a non-locking knob handle plunger designed for precision positioning and indexing applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. Featuring an M5x0.8 threaded shank with a thread length of 0.394 inches and a knurled knob head, this plunger delivers an initial end force of 0.5 pounds and a final end force of 3 pounds, making it suitable for light-duty detent and locating tasks. The compact body measures 0.47 inches in length with a maximum plunger diameter of 0.0984 inches. Machinists, toolmakers, and mechanical assembly technicians typically install this type of component in fixtures, jigs, and machine panels.
This plunger is used in applications requiring repeatable positioning without a locking mechanism. The knurled knob provides manual actuation without tools, making it well suited for quick-adjust fixtures, panel-mount indexing, and equipment access doors in both light industrial and production environments. The M5x0.8 thread allows direct installation into standard tapped holes. The non-locking plunger design permits free retraction under load, which is appropriate for applications where the plunger must release without deliberate unlocking action.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for mechanical fixtures, jigs, and machine panels that accept M5x0.8 threaded non-locking spring plungers with a knob handle.
Installation is performed by threading the MKNL-0-G into a pre-tapped M5x0.8 hole in the mating component. Ensure the receiving bore is clean and correctly tapped to depth before installation. Apply appropriate thread engagement based on the 0.394-inch thread length to avoid bottoming out. No special tools are required for manual actuation; a wrench or driver may be used on the body during installation to achieve proper seating without over-torquing the small-diameter thread.
