The GIBRALTAR HEP3704 is a straight ejector pin used in injection mold tooling and die sets to push finished parts out of mold cavities at the end of each press cycle. The pin measures 17/64 inches in diameter and 18 inches in overall length, with a 7/16 inch head diameter and 1/4 inch head height. Manufactured from steel with a nitride finish, it delivers the hardness and surface durability required for repetitive ejection cycles in production tooling environments. This pin is installed and serviced by tooling technicians and moldmakers.
This ejector pin is suited for use in plastic injection molds, die casting tooling, and stamping die assemblies where a straight ejector pin configuration is required. The 18 inch overall length accommodates deeper mold bases. The nitride finish reduces surface friction and resists wear during high-cycle operation, making it appropriate for production and semi-production tooling applications across industrial and manufacturing settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement straight ejector pin for use in standard injection mold and die tooling assemblies that accept a 17/64 inch diameter straight ejector pin with a 7/16 inch head diameter.
Ejector pins are installed and replaced by qualified tooling technicians or moldmakers. The mold or die assembly must be fully de-energized, depressurized, and cooled before any ejector plate disassembly begins. Pins should be inspected for burrs or surface damage before installation, and the ejector bore should be cleaned and confirmed to be within tolerance to prevent galling. Follow the tooling manufacturer specifications for ejector plate clamping procedures.
