The GIBRALTAR GIB53435 is a square U-bolt designed for securing pipe, conduit, tubing, and similar round or square stock to structural supports. Manufactured from C-1010 steel with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance, it features a 3/8-16 UNC thread with a 3-inch thread length and an overall length of 5 inches. The 6-inch width accommodates larger pipe or structural members. Each unit ships with two nuts and two washers, making it a complete fastening solution. Plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and electricians use this hardware in mechanical rooms, equipment supports, and piping runs where a rigid, durable mount point is required.
This square U-bolt is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical installations where pipe or conduit must be anchored to unistrut, wood framing, steel structure, or similar substrates. The without-mount-plate configuration is appropriate for direct through-bolt applications. The zinc-plated finish provides adequate protection for indoor and sheltered outdoor service environments. Typical applications include HVAC refrigerant line sets, plumbing supply and drain piping support, conduit hangers, and equipment mounting in mechanical and utility spaces.
Designed as a standard-duty pipe and conduit support fastener compatible with unistrut channel, wood framing, and steel structural members in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical installations requiring 3/8-16 UNC hardware.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, or electricians depending on the application. De-energize any nearby electrical circuits and shut off fluid systems before securing or repositioning pipe runs. Use appropriate hand tools — wrenches or ratchets sized for the included nuts — and tighten hardware to snug contact without over-torquing the U-bolt legs. Consult applicable codes including the IPC, IFGC, or NEC for required pipe and conduit support spacing in your jurisdiction.
