The GIBRALTAR DCIM25-89 is a medium-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, molds, and industrial tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire profile, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 341 pounds at a maximum deflection of 1.46 inches. The 1-inch hole diameter and 0.5-inch rod diameter make it a standard-fit component for typical die sets. Identified by its blue color coding per ISO and NAAMS conventions, the DCIM25-89 offers a free length of 3.5 inches and a spring rate of 233 pounds per inch. Tool and die makers, maintenance technicians, and industrial machine shops are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for medium-duty stamping, forming, and stripping operations in both production and toolroom environments. It fits standard die shoe assemblies where a 1-inch bore and 0.5-inch guide rod are specified. The blue color designation signals medium-duty rating under NAAMS and ISO 10243 standards, allowing straightforward identification and replacement in multi-spring die configurations. Typical applications include blanking dies, progressive dies, and injection mold assemblies requiring consistent spring-back force across repeated cycles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for medium-duty die springs with a 1-inch hole diameter and 0.5-inch rod diameter in standard NAAMS and ISO 10243 compliant die sets.
Die springs are installed by tool and die makers or maintenance technicians during die assembly or rebuilding. Always relieve all press and clamping pressure and lock out the press before replacing die springs. Inspect the guide rod and bore for wear or damage before seating the new spring, as misalignment accelerates fatigue. Do not compress this spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 1.46 inches during operation.
