The GIBRALTAR DCIM25-32 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and precision tooling applications. It features a 1 inch hole diameter, a 1/2 inch rod diameter, and a 1-1/4 inch free length. The spring is wound from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire shape, which increases the load-bearing surface area compared to round wire. At maximum deflection of 0.5 inches, the spring delivers a load of 364 pounds at a spring rate of 722 pounds per inch. The blue color coding identifies this spring as medium-duty per industry standard classifications. It is sold individually and is intended for use by tool-and-die makers, mold builders, and industrial maintenance technicians.
This die spring fits standard die sets and mold bases where a 1 inch housing bore and 1/2 inch guide rod are specified. It is suited for applications in metal stamping, injection molding, and progressive die tooling where consistent, repeatable spring force is required. The compressed length at maximum load is 0.5 inches, making it appropriate for compact die cavities with limited travel. Its medium-duty rating positions it between light-duty and heavy-duty springs in a standard die spring lineup, offering a balance of deflection range and load capacity for moderate-cycle tooling applications.
Designed as a replacement or new-installation die spring for standard die sets and mold bases requiring a 1 inch bore diameter and 1/2 inch guide rod diameter. Conforms to NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards, ensuring interchangeability with other compliant springs of the same size and duty rating.
Die spring replacement and installation should be performed by qualified tool-and-die or industrial maintenance personnel. Always de-energize and lock out the press or machine before removing or installing die springs. Ensure the guide rod and housing bore are free of burrs, debris, and corrosion before seating the spring. Do not exceed the specified maximum deflection of 0.5 inches in service, as over-compression will reduce spring fatigue life and may cause premature failure.
