The GIBRALTAR DCIM20-38 is a medium-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch press tooling, and other precision metal-forming applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers consistent force and controlled deflection across repeated compression cycles. It carries a maximum deflection load of 193 pounds and a maximum deflection of 0.61 inches, with a spring rate of 315 pounds per inch. The blue color coding identifies it as medium-duty per industry convention. Tool and die makers, press operators, and maintenance technicians working with NAAMS or ISO-compliant tooling specify this spring for reliable, repeatable performance.
This spring is suited for installation in die sets used in automotive, aerospace, and general metal-forming production environments. The 0.75-inch hole diameter accepts standard die components, and the 0.375-inch rod diameter is compatible with common guide rod sizes used in stamping tooling. With a free length of 1.5 inches and a compressed length at maximum load of 0.61 inches, it fits tooling envelopes where space is limited but consistent spring force is required. It is sold individually and carries no minimum order requirement beyond a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for NAAMS and ISO 10243 compliant stamping die applications requiring a 0.75-inch hole diameter, 0.375-inch rod diameter, and 1.5-inch free length in the medium-duty blue classification.
Die springs should be installed and replaced by qualified tool and die makers or maintenance personnel familiar with press tooling safety procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the press before servicing any die components. Inspect the mating rod and bore surfaces for wear or damage before installing a new spring, as misalignment can cause premature fatigue. Follow applicable plant safety standards and tooling manufacturer guidelines when stacking or replacing springs in a die set.
