The GIBRALTAR DCIL20-76 is a light-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and industrial press tooling. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section wound from chromium alloy steel, which delivers higher load capacity in a compact envelope compared to round-wire springs of the same size. The spring measures 3 inches in free length with a 0.75-inch hole diameter and a 0.375-inch rod diameter. Maximum deflection load is 150 pounds, maximum deflection is 1.63 inches, and the spring rate is 92 pounds per inch. The green color coding identifies this as a light-duty grade under ISO and NAAMS standards. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists are the primary installers.
This spring is suited for light-duty cycling applications in stamping dies, injection molds, jigs, and fixtures where controlled return force and consistent spring rate are required. The compact 3-inch free length fits standard die sets and mold bases sized for 0.75-inch spring pockets with a 0.375-inch guide rod. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both OEM die builds and replacement service in production tooling environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for light-duty die spring pockets requiring a 0.75-inch hole diameter, 0.375-inch guide rod, and 3-inch free length in stamping dies, molds, and similar press tooling.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or maintenance personnel familiar with press tooling and die construction. Always de-energize and lock out the press before removing or replacing die springs. Guide rods must be clean, straight, and within tolerance to prevent side-loading, which accelerates fatigue failure. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 1.63 inches; operating a die spring beyond its rated travel significantly reduces service life.
