The GIBRALTAR DCIL12.5-76 is a light-duty die spring engineered for precision tooling and stamping applications. It features a 0.5 inch hole diameter, a 9/32 inch (0.2813 inch) rod diameter, and a 3 inch free length. The spring is wound from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, a profile that improves load distribution and extends fatigue life compared to round wire. At maximum deflection of 1.96 inches, it delivers a load of 66 pounds. The spring rate is 34 pounds per inch. It is identified by a green color code per industry convention for light-duty classification.
This die spring is suited for use in metal stamping dies, punch press tooling, mold components, and similar industrial equipment where consistent, repeatable spring force is required. The compact geometry makes it appropriate for installations where rod clearance is tight and precise load control is needed throughout the compression stroke. Typical installers include tool-and-die makers, press maintenance technicians, and industrial maintenance personnel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install die spring conforming to NAAMS and ISO 10243 dimensional standards, making it interchangeable with other light-duty die springs of the same hole diameter, rod diameter, and free length in compatible tooling assemblies.
Die springs are installed and serviced by qualified tool-and-die technicians or industrial maintenance personnel. Always relieve all press load and lock out the press ram before accessing or replacing die springs. Verify that the rod diameter and hole diameter of the new spring match the existing tooling before installation. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding travel-to-solid limits will reduce service life and may damage surrounding tooling components.
